Seven graduating Benson High seniors received $1,500 Alumni Association scholarships. Because of the pandemic, there wasn’t an official program.
This brings the total of scholarships awarded during the past years to $192,000 and 171 recipients.
Alumni scholarships for the Class of 2021:
Eh Dah, Charles “Chuck” Davey Memorial Scholarship. She will be attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and has not declared a major. Eh was a member of the National Honor Society.
Isabelle Kripps, Benson High Alumni Association/ Jacqueline Snyder Pospisil Scholarship. She will be attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and plans to major in journalism. Isabelle was a member of the National Honor Society and the Cupola staff.
Moo Htoo, William F. Nimtz Scholarship. She will be attending UNO and plans to major in nursing. Moo was the VP of the Senior Senate and the Treasurer of the National Honor Society,
Gabrielle Koch, Benson High Alumni Association/ Shane Graeve Family Scholarship. She will be attending Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri, where she will be working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and bachelor’s in social work. Gabrielle was a member of DECA.
Kennedy Cheyenn Touali, Benson High Alumni Association/Fred Pisasale Scholarship. She will be attending the UNO and plans to major in English and American Literature. Kennedy was a member of the Cupola staff.
Chris Schroeder, John C. McElhaney Memorial Music Scholarship. He will be attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney and has not declared a major. Chris was a member of the Benson Band and the Science Club.
Annette Tun Torres Ordonez, John C. McElhaney Memorial Music Scholarship. She will be attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and has not decided on a major. Annette was a member of the Benson Band and the Allies Club.
